Sustainability Application & Operations

We are currently looking for motivated, young professionals to join our Sustainability Application & Operations department – overseeing the project management of RobecoSAM’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) and the creation of the iconic Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). The team is responsible for managing RobecoSAM’s proprietary database, one of the world’s most complete on corporate sustainability. The information stored here is used in RobecoSAM’s asset management and index products.
We are searching for people that are passionate about sustainability and would like to join an investment manager that drives sustainable business practices through financial markets. You will join a project-focused, international team of like-minded people, driven to deliver excellence in managing the worlds’ most known family of sustainability indices and one of the leading corporate sustainability benchmarking methodologies. The CSA forms the foundation for RobecoSAM’s research and investment activities; that is why we are looking to hire young professionals on a fixed term contract with the intention of potentially creating permanent positions. 
This internship is uniquely designed to provide you with a solid foundation for a possible career at RobecoSAM or in the sustainable investment industry. The performance in this program will determine whether candidates potentially receive a permanent position at RobecoSAM. The start date is in early 2017 and the planned duration is 9 months, or as agreed upon.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Responsibility for interaction with over 800 corporates responding to RobecoSAM’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment  (CSA) and for increasing participation
  • Responsibility for managing the DJSI Helpline
  • Industry-specific responsibility in performing quality control on sustainability data and support on overall quality control process
  • Conducting the Media & Stakeholder Analysis to analyze potential financial and reputational risks at companies
  • Supporting the Sustainability Investing Research team in the further development of the CSA Methodology

What qualifications do you need?

  • A completed university degree, ideally with some specialized courses related to corporate responsibility, sustainable development, responsible investing, environmental management, etc.
  • At least one prior internship or work experience
  • Strong analytical skills with an acute attention to detail
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
