RobecoSAM today launched its Corporate Sustainability Assessment, the annual evaluation of corporate sustainability practices that serves as the basis for the construction of all Dow Jones Sustainability Indices.
On March 4th 2015 RobecoSAM and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) launched a joint publication on what reporting organizations and investors consider to be financially material. The study reveals a high overlap of what is regarded as material, although the wording of their definitions may sometimes differ. More here. The Asian Development Bank (ADB), ORIX Corporation (ORIX), and Robeco have established a new private equity joint venture with a focus on resource efficiency investments. The investment vehicle will be dedicated to renewable energy, clean technology, natural resource efficiency, water, and agriculture. RobecoSAM’s investment expertise in the field of resource efficiency and private equity was crucial to Robeco being granted the mandate from ADB.

RobecoSAM announces the publication of its annual Sustainability Yearbook which looks back at companies’ sustainability performance in 2013 and ranks them as Gold, Silver or Bronze. The top performing company from each of the 59 industries is awarded RobecoSAM Industry Leader. This year, RobecoSAM’s CEO encourages the CEOs of the yearbook’s 59 Industry Leaders to talk to their pension fund managers and help them embrace sustainability.
RobecoSAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices announce the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) review. Launched in 1999, the DJSI were the first global indices to track the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.
RobecoSAM invites the 2,500 largest companies in terms of free float market capitalization from all industries to participate in its annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). In addition, 800 companies from emerging markets are invited to participate and gain eligibility for inclusion in the recently lauchned DJSI Emerging Markets.
ORIX Corporation (ORIX), Coöperatieve Centrale Raiffeisen-Boerenleenbank B.A., (Rabobank) and Robeco Groep N.V., (Robeco) announce that ORIX is acquiring approximately 90.01% of the equity in Robeco from Rabobank, for EUR 1,935 million (JPY 240.2 billion). Closing of the transaction is subject to legal and regulatory approvals, which are expected to be completed within six months.
Companies from the USA, Germany and South Korea are top gold medal winners for sustainable business according to The Sustainability Yearbook 2013. Only the top 15% of companies from each of the 58 sectors qualify for inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook. A total of 67 companies have been awarded gold medals this year, which corresponds to just 2.5% of all companiess assessed. Additionally, 58 companies are recognized as RobecoSAM Sector Leaders for setting the industry standard in environmental, social and governance practices.
SAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices announce the results of the 2012 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) review. SAM names the 19 Supersector leaders that truly stand out amongst their peers as well as the largest additions and deletions to the index family. The DJSI are based on SAM’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment, which measures the sustainability performance of over 2,000 of the largest companies globally.
