Equity Analyst Materials/Industrials

RobecoSAM is an Asset Manager focused on Sustainability Investing and well known for its Theme Funds. We are looking for a dedicated Equity Analyst to thematically cover the Materials/Industrials sectors and to strengthen our Thematic investing team. At RobecoSAM analysts are given a unique platform to apply their technical interests and passion to a specific sector and to ultimately translate them into attractive investment recommendations for our Portfolio Managers.

In this role, he/she will be responsible for the Financial analysis of listed companies with focus on the Materials and partially the Industrials sector, including financial modelling, company visits, trade shows. Based on this, he/she will support the team with deep-dive research on relevant topics and conclude this with reports summarizing key trends and opportunities. Applying proprietary tools, by screening companies for their financial attractiveness and recommend investments based on solid investment thesis. There will be close interaction with our SI Research department in building and maintaining the investment universe. Sales and Marketing support activities as well as presentations in front of investors are also in the scope of activities.

  • Master’s degree or a similar higher educational background in business administration, finance or economics, with profound knowledge of financial markets experience and/ or CFA designation
  • 2-5 years of investment research experience, preferably in buy-side and/or sell-side research positions for Global or Thematic equity portfolios with a successful personal track record or comparable experience, ideally in a related sector such as materials, industrials, IT
  • Knowledge of the standard financial valuation tools (e.g., DCF, EVA, multiples)
  • Stock picking curiosity, passion for finding ideas whether at theme or stock level that are underappreciated in the market
  • Experience and passion for modelling in Excel or other tools
  • Affinity for sustainability (investing)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English , other languages helpful
