Your main tasks in this position are

  • Quantitative analyses of sustainability data that are provided by our long-term cooper-ation partner S&P
  • Identification of correlations between sustainability indicators and financial perfor-mance
  • Further developing Smart ESG, a concept which identifies correlations between sustain-ability indicators and financial performance and introduces ESG as a factor
  • Create insights, perform back-tests and support the development of new investment products in the field of sustainability investing
  • Enhancement and maintenance for additional, specific ESG data that are applied in var-ious investment strategies

The ESG Data Engineering Team is responsible for

  • Driving the development of methodologies that transform data into financially relevant information
  • Definition of a company-wide ESG data strategy
  • Evaluation of data providers and implementation of quality checks
  • Selection of relevant ESG criteria
  • Empirical testing (back testing and simulation)
  • Handling of distortions and management of missing or inaccurate data
  • Creation of models and methods for converting raw data into intelligent data
  • Data Innovation
  • Coordination of data request and data processing with data management
  • Initiation of concepts for ESG reporting
  • Creation and review of investment universes

You are a self-motivated and creative analyst with in-depth knowledge of financial markets and investment products. You are quantitatively strong, have a master's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, computer science, engineering or econometrics. You have a solid background in statistics, preferably including machine learning techniques, have several years of programming experience and have strong data modeling and analysis skills using Python (Pandas), SQL and preferably Apache Spark (Databricks).

With a minimum of 3 years of working experience in the financial industry, you are excited to work for a global leader in sustainability investing and committed to exploring how non-financial factors influence enterprise success on the one hand and investment returns on the other hand. In this position, you will perform quantitative analyses in close cooperation with our international team of analysts. In addition to results-oriented analytical research, you will be able to translate insights into innovative product proposals and improve investment processes.

You possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English, which enable you to work independently in an international environment and express your views internally and externally. You are able to pass on your knowledge in a structured way. Your strengths include quality awareness, an open way of thinking, strong social skills and respect for different opinions and cultures. The following items are additional assets: sustainability background, database architecture and management, German language skills.
