The SAM Sustainability Yearbook 2020 has been published today newly branded under the ownership of S&P Global, in cooperation with RobecoSAM. RobecoSAM has issued the Yearbook since 2004.
This move follows the announcement that RobecoSAM and S&P Global now build on their successful relationship by transferring the ESG Ratings business, including the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), from RobecoSAM to S&P Global in a transaction which concluded successfully on January 10, 2020. S&P Global is the holding company of S&P Dow Jones Indices which has partnered with RobecoSAM for two decades, launching the Dow Jones Sustainability Index series together.
Co-publication of the SAM Sustainability Yearbook 2020 is the first exciting step towards reshaping this partnership for the future.
S&P Global, with its expertise in financial markets data, becomes established as a leading ESG data provider as the new owner of the businesses specialized in providing ESG data, ratings, and benchmarking, under the SAM brand since February 2019.
As pure play asset managers, RobecoSAM and Robeco will focus their resources and collective research expertise around their core IP, the interpretation and application of ESG data and Sustainable Investing research for clients. This will be with continued access to CSA data for use in investment strategies and with a retained role in the CSA Methodology Committee, ensuring it continues to address financially relevant and emerging ESG issues relevant to investors.
All parties involved anticipate that the scale of the CSA operations, usage and volume of the data and services will be enhanced to the benefit of all stakeholders.
RobecoSAM and Robeco look forward to continuing the close collaboration and exchange of insights on Sustainable Investing with the teams responsible for the CSA at S&P Global.
Together, we invite you to explore the SAM Sustainability Yearbook 2020!
